Office 2011 for Mac installs some of its dependent components in System areas. Frequently, after an operating system update, this release of Office for Mac will stop working. The solution is to completely remove it per Microsoft instructions, and reinstall it — followed by all updates through 14.7.7 (Fall 2017).
